Cement is a water intensive industry. We thus make conscious efforts to reduce our water consumption at all levels. We have been gradually reducing our water usage over the last decade, and have already reduced our dependence on freshwater withdrawals through measures such as rainwater harvesting at our plants, and nearby communities.

At Sagar Cements, we dispose our hazardous and non-hazardous waste responsibly, and as per norms prescribed by law. We also utilise waste generated by other industries as a feed to our operations, thereby achieving resource optimisation, and minimising waste generation. 3,57,997 MT of fly‑ash and 9,89,997 MT of by products / waste from other industries was used in this year.

We conduct biodiversity assessment at all our plant locations to gauge the volume of flora and fauna that could get possibly impacted by our operations. After mine closure, we plant native species with a view to restore the natural ecosystem.
