GreenCo certification by the CII GBC

ADVANCING GREENCO CERTIFICATION ACROSS PLANTS

We continue to strengthen our environmental management practices through recognised sustainability frameworks. Currently, 3 out of 6 Sagar Cements plants have received GreenCo certification by CII GBC including Mattampally, Gudipadu and Bayyavaram.

GreenCo recognises our efforts across plants to implement best practices for adoption of solar, hydel, and waste heat recovery systems to increase renewable energy usage, established zero water discharge systems and integrated alternative fuels into the production process. These measures significantly improved energy efficiency, waste management and emission reduction.

Independent audits by CII GreenCo-accredited assessors confirm that the plants meet the assessment and scoring criteria, enabling them to secure Gold and Platinum certifications.

We continue to benchmark our plants against national and international sustainability standards. The process for GreenCo certification has been initiated for two other plants and preparation is underway. Our continued focus and capacity-building efforts will play a  crucial role in this journey.

The Bayyavaram plant successfully completed its GreenCo renewal assessment conducted by CII–Green Business Centre, retaining the prestigious Platinum rating in FY25-26. By maintaining one of the highest certification levels and expanding sustainability frameworks across locations, we continue to demonstrate progress in operational sustainability. These efforts reflect our commitment to adopting best practices that enhance resource efficiency while reducing environmental impacts across our manufacturing operations.
