Legacy

We commenced our journey in 1985, withstanding the test of time and witnessing holistic growth across all facets. Through the years, we have emerged as a key player in the South Indian cement industry, and have contributed to the development of the regions where we operate.

Follow us through our eventful journey spanning over three decades.

1985

Plant commissioned with a 200 TPD kiln with a four-stage preheater. Before the advent of this technology, cement plants used wet process in which heat (coal) and electricity consumption was very high.

The four-stage preheater technology, introduced in 1980s, uses less coal and electricity

1998

Installed a KIDS® cooler, which is a clinker inlet distribution system developed by the German company, IKN.

Installation of the cooler helped the process by reducing heat (coal) consumption and the maintenance time and interval.

Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) for raw mills and coal mill

2008

Undertook a brownfield capacity expansion by adding an additional six-stage calciner preheater, kiln and pendulum cooler, and a 2.5 MTPA cement-grinding capacity adjacent to the existing kiln

2015

Acquired a 1.0 MTPA plant from BMM Cement (with proceeds from Vicat JV SCL stake sale)

2016

Acquired the unit in Bayyavaram

2017

Consolidated position in the South

Expanded in the East

Gradually ramped up the Bayyavaram capacity to 0.3 MTPA

2018

Bayyavaram capacity ramped up to 1.5 MTPA

SCRL production ramped up to 1.25 MTPA

2021

1.0 MTPA integrated plant in Madhya Pradesh (Satguru Cement)

1.50 MTPA capacity grinding at Jajpur, Odisha (Jajpur Cement)

2025

10.00 MTPA
Through organic and
inorganic growth
